Consumer Credit Centre appoints Managing Director

The Consumer Credit Centre, which was established by the SimplyBiz Group earlier this year to provide compliance and business support to firms affected by April’s change in consumer credit regulation, has announced the appointment of David Golder as Managing Director.

Golder, who has held senior roles in the largest compliance and regulatory support companies in the UK over the past 25 years, takes on the newly created role with immediate effect.  Talking about his appointment, he commented:

“I’m delighted to take on this role and look forward to embracing the opportunities presented by the new consumer credit regulatory environment.  My experience in financial services means that I’ve seen the introduction and evolution of a very similar regime previously, and have a wealth of experience delivering solutions for regulated firms.

“Between the 1st of April and the end of 2014, 200 firms have already signed up to the Consumer Credit Centre, demonstrating that the comprehensive and robust service we’re offering are greatly needed by those who have made the move from OFT to FCA regulation.  This market is a natural fit for the SimplyBiz Group, given our years of experience in providing compliance and business support to regulated individuals from the point of FCA application through to maintaining a compliant, successful and profitable business.”

The Consumer Credit Centre was launched in April 2014 as a direct response to the change in regulation from the Office of Fair Trading to the Financial Conduct Authority.  The business supports firms with the guidance, support and relevant documentation required to operate under the new regulator, including anti money-laundering, complaint handling, treating customers fairly and financial promotions.  The SimplyBiz Group are currently the single largest supporter of firms directly regulated by the FCA and handle the largest number of applications to the regulator.

Group Compliance Director, Gary Kershaw, added:

“Getting the Consumer Credit Centre ready to meet the needs of those affected by the change in regulation has very much played to the strengths of the SimplyBiz Group, and I am delighted to be continuing my involvement.”
